Our Work with Tata Global Beverages
By 2016, committed to sourcing Rainforest Alliance Certified™ tea for the Tetley brand globally and purchasing all of the tea for its branded teabag and loose tea products from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms. All Tetley branded black, green and red (Rooibos) tea, including flavored and decaffeinated varieties, will be part of the certification program. (Source: Tata Global Beverages)
In September 2012, Tetley -- the world’s second largest tea brand -- reached 50% Rainforest Alliance Certified™ tea across all its products, representing nearly 20,000 metric tonnes (20 million kilograms) of sustainably grown tea per year. The first Tetley teas with the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal appeared in the United Kingdom in 2010, and quickly expanded to Canada and other countries. Tetley’s "Farmers First Hand" initiative, launched in 2011, provides consumers direct contact online with the people who grow Rainforest Alliance Certified tea. (Source: Tata Global Beverages)
