You may already know something about the Rainforest Alliance and the work we do. Maybe you've seen our seal on bags of coffee at your supermarket, or alongside the Forest Stewardship Council logo on a piece of furniture or package of paper. We're at work in more than 70 countries, doing our best to protect ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them. But what does our work really look like and what does it mean in a broader context? Our blog lets us show off some of the nitty gritty behind-the-scenes details that go into creating the success stories of which we're so proud. So much of this kind of work seems to happen on a large scale, but the steps involved are much smaller and more personal. We also want to share what our experts on staff have to say about important conservation issues and events -- and untangle the way these relate to our work. It may take the form of a commentary on a recent news story, a travelogue from a trip to a certified teak plantation in Indonesia, or a Q&A with an individual from one of the many businesses with which we're collaborating. Whatever form the blog takes, its purpose is to help you get to know us better, and to share our perspective on the many environmental problems we seek to remedy. |
