You may already know something about the Rainforest Alliance and the work we do. Maybe you've seen our certified seal on packages of coffee at your supermarket, or alongside the Forest Stewardship Council logo on a piece of furniture or package of paper. We're at work in more than 50 countries, doing our best to protect ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them. But what does our work really look like? Our blog lets us show off some of the nitty gritty behind-the-scenes details that go into creating the success stories of which we're so proud. So much of this kind of work seems to happen on a large scale, but the steps involved are much smaller and more personal. We want to bring you closer to the Rainforest Alliance and show you what the process of conservation really looks like. It may take the form of a photo essay of a shade coffee farm in Honduras, a travelogue from a trip to a certified teak plantation in Indonesia, or a narrative written by a staff member explaining the details of his or her job. Whatever form the blog takes, its purpose is to help you get to know us better. |
