Report from Kenya -- Part One

In 2007, the Rainforest Alliance launched its tea certification program in Kenya. The first certified farm was Kericho, an estate in Kenya owned by Unilever that supplies the Lipton and PG Tips brands. Recently, Rainforest Alliance president Tensie Whelan traveled to Kenya to attend a meeting of the Unilever Sustainable Agriculture Advisory Board, visit some of Kenya's stunning national parks and see a few of the country's flower farms.

Travels in Ghana -- Part One

In late October, 2008, Rainforest Alliance executive director Tensie Whelan joined Christian Mensah -- an agronomist who recently joined our sustainable agriculture team -- in Ghana to take in the landscape, learn about the state of the cocoa industry and witness, first-hand, the need for reforestation in a country plagued by the effects of unsustainable farming.
