Notes from the Bali Climate Change Conference (II)

Even with the earth at stake -- to have any chance in minimizing extreme weather events or species loss we must reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050 in order to avoid warming beyond 2 degrees Celsius -- it seemed nearly certain that the conference would collapse in failure with no road map for the critical next two years.

Notes from the Bali Climate Change Conference

The Conference of the Parties 13 (COP13) is the largest global meeting on climate change in history... There are mountains of formal and informal sessions for technical committees and country delegates, some open to the public, some behind closed doors... not to mention the many side events and unofficial gatherings at venues nearby.
