Our team of SmartWood auditors evaluates forest management operations that harvest non-timber forest products (NTFPs), including ornamental plants, syrup, nuts and other products and awards certification to those meeting Forest Stewardship Council requirements. NTFP certification is available for forest managers, landowners, communities and forest companies.

In addition to SmartWood's NTFP certification activities, the Rainforest Alliance awards a fellowship and undertakes projects aimed at improving markets for NTFPs and developing sustainability standards for NTFP harvest.
