Michael Thiemann has been the Training Manager for the TREES program since 2002. He holds a masters degree in Education with an undergraduate degree in Business/Economics and Sociology. As Training Manager he oversees training strategy, helps develop new projects, trains trainers, guides event management, assesses training needs, and coordinates the tools and systems needed to ensure the Forestry Division can provide a robust and integrated set of training services for staff, our consultants and our clients.

Prior to joining Rainforest Alliance, Michael was training manager for a very successful specialty coffee roaster in Vermont, and spent many years before that as training manager for a top international airline company. He has traveled extensively in his career to more than 65 countries, and brings this vast cultural experience to his work at Rainforest Alliance.
