Cock of the Rock Lodge

Cock of the Rock Lodge is adjacent to Manu National Park, located along the highway to the park’s entrance. We have a private conservation area with 12,350 acres (5,000 ha) of cloud forest at 3,609 to 8,858 feet (1100 to 2700 m) above sea level. Our reserve provides habitat for Peru’s national bird, the cock of the rock (Rupicola peruviana), and other birds native to the area such as the Andean toucan (Andigena hypoglauca). The area also protects spectacled bears (Tremarctos ornatus) and at least three species of monkeys.
