New Year
Thanks for a Wonderful Year
Hummingbird We can't deny that 2009 was a truly taxing year. Like many non-governmental organizations, we faced unprecedented challenges and unexpected financial constraints -- largely the results of a global recession. But we also found ourselves with a new opportunity: the chance to demonstrate the resilience of sustainable business and communicate the social, environmental and economic rewards of real investments in sustainability.

Q & ALooking Ahead to a Promising 2010
How did the Rainforest Alliance manage to grow and flourish in 2009? According to president Tensie Whelan, it's because "we have a unique model that is providing people with the tools they need to deal with the new resource-constrained realities of the 21st century." As she explains, "we're helping hoteliers, farmers and foresters to become more efficient, be better businesspeople, conserve water, protect wildlife and take better care of their employees and their communities."

Read Tensie's reflections on 2009 and hopes for the Rainforest Alliance in the upcoming year.
