Travel Excellence is based in Costa Rica, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Its irregular coastlines are full of incredibly beautiful beaches, peninsulas, bays, and gulfs, making the country a world-class destination with extraordinary biodiversity.
Costa Rica can be considered the birthplace of ecotourism. Here, you can enjoy a variety of activities in our vast rainforests, volcanoes and rivers and observe an abundance of natural resources, all of which are protected by a national system of protected areas that include biological reserves, national parks, forest reserves and wildlife refuges.
Travel Excellence can arrange tours to different areas of Costa Rica, such as San José, Tortuguero, Arenal, Guanacaste, Rincon de la Vieja, Monteverde, Turrialba, San Gerardo de Dota, Puerto Viejo, Cahuita, Sarapiqui, Corcovado and Manuel Antonio.
Making a Difference
Travel Excellence trains all of its staff on environmentally-friendly practices, such as the efficient use of energy (lights and air conditioning). In 2014, energy consumption was more than 10% lower than in 2013 consumption. We train our drivers on fuel-efficient driving techniques, and for both customer satisfaction and environmental consciousness, we gradually updated our fleet of vehicles sooner than originally planned, reducing our greenhouse gas footprint by 22.7 tons of equivalent CO2 between 2012 and 2014. Our staff has been trained in best practices for water conservation, including its rational use, the immediate report of water leaks and using low-flush toilets. Based on 2012 data, we estimate a decrease in water consumption by 10% in 2013 and 7% in 2014. We recycle plastic, newspaper and office paper, cardboard, aluminum, glass, batteries, tetra packs and all of our electronic waste material.
We frequently support wildlife conservation projects, and our welcome kit asks visitors not to feed animal species, as this practice not only has a negative impact, but is also in many cases illegal.
Travel Excellence abides by all national and international regulations. We are committed to preserving our cultural heritage, both as part of our own roots as Costa Ricans, and in the best interests of our business, since cultural contact is part of our guests’ experience.
