Maarten Kleyn is the interim chief innovation & technology officer at the Rainforest Alliance. Based in the Netherlands, he oversees a global team responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting technical and innovative business solutions for the Rainforest Alliance and its extended community. He joins the organization with over 20 years of experience in digital strategy and implementation.
Maarten was, amongst others, the IT director for Europool, Europe's largest logistics service provider for returnable and reusable packaging. He also worked for Saltro, an innovative diagnostic knowledge center for healthcare consumers and professionals, as their interim chief innovation & technology officer. Additionally, Maarten also was program manager for content management software (CMS) at the European division of Office Depot, where he led the rollout of master data management (MDM) and product information management (PIM) systems to achieve a pan-European omnichannel strategy focused on improving SEO. At SDU, he worked as interim CIO and program manager.
Before working in interim roles Maarten was the chief information officer for PCM Uitgevers, the largest newspaper and book publisher in the Netherlands.
Maarten studied at Delft University of Technology and The Hague University of Applied Sciences. He holds a Master of Science degree in business administration from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
