Tessie Nedelman is a NYC jewelry designer, whose work includes a line inspired by what is found in nature. She was born in California, moving to the East Coast in 2003, after graduating from the University of CA in Berkeley. She was an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles for five years and after that worked for Apple Computer promoting the value of technology as an educational tool for schools.
In addition to her interest in and involvement with Educational organizations, Tessie is dedicated to and very supportive of the economic development and human rights aspect of the Rainforest Alliance’s work. She has experienced firsthand Rainforest Alliance's work in Ecuador, Mexico and Peru, where she met with several small and large Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farmers and members of certified sustainable forest community enterprises.
Outside of her role as a Rainforest Alliance Ambassador, Tessie serves on the Grant Advisory Committee of the New York Women’s Foundation, and is a meeting facilitator for Parents In Action Inc. She lives in New York City with her husband Jeff, her daughter and two sons. Together, the Nedelmans enjoy cycling throughout the world’s beautiful rural areas.
