Whether your company is already participating in our 2020 Certification Program or you are looking to upgrade your sustainability commitments, it helps to know your decisions are backed by science. We have good news: Evidensia compiles credible research on the impacts of all sorts of supply chain programs and tools. This accessible platform is here to help you make well-informed decisions on your company’s sourcing and certification activities. With Evidensia’s information hub, you will gain confidence that you’re using the best sustainability solutions for your company.
The “why” behind a responsible supply chain
The mission of Evidensia is to put evidence at the heart of sustainability actions and decisions. It was founded in 2019 by ISEAL Alliance, the Rainforest Alliance, and WWF with the support of the Global Environment Facility. For businesses of all sizes, across sectors and regions, Evidensia provides the research needed to build a responsible supply chain based on a clear understanding of what sustainability initiatives work best and why. Better yet, it brings together all relevant studies and research materials into a single, easy-to-use website.
A sophisticated search engine
The platform’s search engine is precise and extensive. You can search the online library for evidence on a specific issue (e.g. climate change, child labor), product (e.g. coffee, cocoa), or by region. You can also search for resources that examine the impacts of Rainforest Alliance certification. Or, simply search for evidence on a specific Sustainable Development Goal. You can then filter the contents by format, highlighting only reports and documents, images and infographics, videos, or audio.
Relevant and credible insights
In addition to the online libary, Evidensia contains innovative visual summaries. They allow users to view all research results on a specific topic in an ‘at a glance’ format. The visual summaries bring together the conservation, livelihoods, and agrochemical impacts of current market-based sustainability initiatives. The site also presents learnings and conclusions from these visual summaries in blog posts, reports, and webinars.

Evidensia follows an open-source principle to compile relevant content that meets basic research quality norms. The platform also applies a cut-off date to ensure all content is ten years or less in age.
