Position summary:

 

The Individual Philanthropy Assistant, under the supervision of the Senior Manager, provides support across the Individual Philanthropy Department functions, which include cultivating and soliciting donors contributing $1,000 or more annually to the Rainforest Alliance, executing Special Events, processing gifts and maintaining the donor data base.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate gift mailings, processing and data entry, event planning and other support functions including department meeting organization, scheduling and other duties;
  • Work with all IP staff to provide support to the functions as described above;
  • Engage with Fundraising Operations team to ensure consistent and high-quality donor date entry;
  • Coordinate with other Assistants and colleagues to schedule team and other meetings;
  • Work with Program colleagues to help gather program information for reports and donor collateral, as needed;
  • Assist in managing donor mailings and solicitation campaigns, including pulling database reports and preparing mailing lists;
  • Assist in event planning and execution for gala and smaller cultivation events;
  • Regularly process gifts, send out acknowledgements and stewardship pieces;
  • Maintain the donor database across Individual Philanthropy and Special Events, and update records with gifts, correspondence, strategy and moves management information;
  • Schedule Department and other meetings and maintains the agendas and notes;
  • Perform other administrative tasks, such as invoice preparation and payment.

Qualifications:

  • College degree required;
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in fundraising assistance preferred;
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience with Development databases, preferably Salesforce;
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience.
