Position summary:

Tailored Programs guides and facilitates sustainability pathways for Rainforest Alliance’s (RA) key corporate partners. To achieve this, Tailored Programs partners with companies on projects to test, innovate and strengthen RA’s certification programs (and other schemes such as FSC and RSPO), implements a suite of technical services to assess and catalyze improved sustainability performance in supply chains and across sectors, and collaborates with companies to align sourcing commitments and policies with RA’s landscape and community projects. Tailored Programs staff work closely with colleagues in Sectors and Core Markets to build relationships with companies and stakeholders and to ensure a unified presentation of services and offerings to clients across RA’s priority sectors. Tailored Programs staff also oversee the design and delivery of tailored services and projects, bringing together expertise from Themes and Partnerships, Standards & Assurance, Training, Advocacy, Farm & Supply Chain Intelligence and Regions to implement mission-driven offerings that drive value for companies while also helping to improve RA’s capability to deliver its two core interventions – reimagined certification and landscapes and community initiatives.

The Associate for Reporting and Communication will support Rainforest Alliance’s work with corporate partners to advance their sustainability performance through supply chain risk assessment and field monitoring and evaluation (M&E) services. Specifically, this position will develop written and graphic reports and data-driven dashboards to support Tailored Programs Project Managers in analyzing, visualizing and communicating sustainability trends, performance and risks for supply chains of Rainforest Alliance’s (RA) key corporate partners. The position will also work closely with the RA Marketing and Engagement team and Tailored Programs staff to integrate impactful infographics and other visuals into RA’s communication and business development materials. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Rainforest Alliance Marketing and Engagement team and Tailored Programs staff to develop communications materials, including print and online: website content, factsheets, and infographics and any other necessary materials that simplify complex technical approaches to catalyze business development amongst key corporate partners;
  • In close collaboration with the Tailored Programs Director and Project Managers lead the design of visually impactful reports and dashboards for key corporate partners that present and visualize insights on sustainability trends, performance and risks in supply chains for Rainforest Alliance’s priority sectors;
  • Support Tailored Programs Project Managers to translate data collected through Rainforest Alliance’s risk assessment and field monitoring and evaluation (M&E) services into insights that inform supply chain corrective actions;
  • Support and backstop data analysis and visualization needs of the Tailored Programs project portfolio;
  • Coordinate with Farm & Supply Chain Intelligence, Marketing and Engagement and Revenue, Reporting and Innovation Departments engaged in communications, graphic design, and data analysis to tailor and align Tailored Programs projects and services with Rainforest Alliance’s strategy and market engagement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in international development, science communication, marketing, social sciences, or related field;
  • Graduate degree and / or specialized training in the above, including data visualization or Marketing&Engagement preferred;
  • 3-4 years relevant experience;
  • Familiarity with and a strong interest in conservation and sustainable development related to agriculture and forestry;
  • Experience preparing reports, creating graphic presentations of data and information, and communicating complex ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Superior English writing, editing, and reading comprehension skills;
  • Familiarity with methods required for analysis, including statistics;
  • Proficiency with methods required for interpreting and visualizing data, such as Tableau, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud;
  • Proficiency with methods required for reporting results and stories such as Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or similar programs;
  • Experience preparing reports, creating graphic presentations of data and information, and communicating complex ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under multiple deadlines and tasks;
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainable development and/or biodiversity conservation;
  • Experience working with a multicultural, international audiences.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience.
