Position summary:

The Finance & Administrative Generalist, DRC, will undertake the finance and administration task of Rainforest Alliance office in DRC, including for the Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project entitled " Promoting the effective management of Salonga National Park by creating community forests and improving the well-being of local communities ". The project is implemented by the United Nation Environment Program (UNE) and Executed by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MEDD), with support from Rainforest Alliance and Action d'Aide Sanitaire et de Développement aux plus Démunis (AASD).  , The project aims to improve the protection of Salonga National Park’s biodiversity by reducing pressures on the Park’s wildlife, forests and habitats through community-based management of forests and the promotion of sustainable development alternatives  to strengthen livelihoods in the Monkoto Corridor.

The Finance & Administrative Generalist DRC is a key member of the Regions and Support units (Finance & Administration and IT) teams which includes Global Internal Compliance, Human Resources, Finance, IT, and Accounting. S/he will manage the day-to-day business administration and human resources support for Rainforest Alliance country office based in Kinshasa and for the field office located at Monkoto, in line with global guidelines and procedures.


  • In coordination with the Rainforest Alliance Global Administration, execute a full range of duties of general office support including: facilities/country administration, local compliance, equipment management, monitor country office budget, and assist regional functional roles as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including liaising with sub-grantees to generate accurate and timely quarterly financial reports;
  • Prepare and submit national tax and any other national compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate and document procurements for vendors.
  • Execute a full range of Human Resources administrative duties in line with local employment law and internal policies and procedures.
  • Bookkeeping, delivery of monthly Office Accounting Report, online banking, tax fillings
  • File all financial documents and prepare necessary conditions to work with audit agencies or financial inspection agencies as required
  • Perform other related duties as required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
  • Professional experience with book-keeping, and contractual management; human resources administration experience required;
  • Able to navigate competing demands on time with a proactive and positive outlook;
  • Preferable: 2-5 years of national tax compliance experience
  • Solid knowledge of procurement processes and regulations;
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially;
  • Experience in an international non-profit organization preferred;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong organizational skills and efficient management of multiple tasks and priorities;
  • Fluency in French and working knowledge of English, both verbal and written
