At Sunscape Puerto Plata we are socially, ecologically, and economically conscious and are proud to implement practices that contribute to the well-being of local communities, protect historical-cultural heritage, conserve natural resources, and provide economic development in the Puerto Plata province.

Our staff live in nearby communities and are free to express themselves according to their beliefs. We do not tolerate discrimination and our working conditions promote physical and emotional wellbeing. We continually invest in the education and training of our staff, and benefit the communities through actions including in-kind donations.  We also defend the rights of children and adolescents.

Our purchasing policy gives preference to local producers who implement good environmental practices. In this way, we contribute to the fulfillment of Objective #12 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.  We are committed to generating a small impact on ecosystems, natural resources, and biodiversity, while also promoting their conservation at our resort.  We give lectures on environmental topics, organize clean-up and reforestation workdays, and we commemorate important environmental days and other holidays that involve our staff, guests and the communities. We sort our wastes and ensure that they are properly disposed of.
