The rainforests of southeast Mexico represent the biological, cultural, and historical wealth of the country. This includes communities of Mayan descendants that extend across the Yucatán peninsula, to the indigenous communities in the mountains of Chiapas, to magical towns such as San Cristóbal, Campeche, and Mérida, whose colonial constructions will take you back in time. You will be delighted by the diversity of species of plants and animals within vast expanses of forests that surround some of the ancient Mayan temples of Yaxchilan, Bonampak, Palenque, and Calakmul. You will enjoy the rivers and waterfalls that run through the Montes Azules reserve, while in the Mayan Rivera you can discover part of one of the largest underground river networks in the world, whose cenotes have unmatched beauty.
In 1996, Explora Ecoturismo y Aventura made our first trip to the Lacandona jungle. Since then, and through relationships with local communities, we have perfected our tours and integrated regional culture, archeology, nature, and adventure into our offerings. Our unique trips are in small groups and provide an authentic experience that you will remember for years.

Our goal is to return to nature by traveling in a different and responsible way to unique natural places, having minimal environmental impact, and supporting local economies. We minimize the amount of waste that our groups generate. By working with local suppliers and guides, greater economic benefits are generated for the local community members. We support reforestation programs, offsetting the CO2 emissions generated from our tours.
