Hacienda Puerta Campeche

| |

Our unique luxury boutique hotel, located within the walled city of Campeche, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The hotel is a collection of seven colonial homes, some with foundations from the 17th century. The rooms are decorated with modern technology and feature 18-foot ceilings with exposed bars and beams, comfortable beds, and cool earthenware floors. Enjoy our "Luxury Collection" mattresses among flower petals, or curl up in the woven cotton hammocks and take a Mayan style nap.

Explore the traditional lifestyle with modern luxuries. Discover the beauty of a Mexican hacienda as well as prompt, personalized service. Swim in our exclusive pool, with secret alcoves and open windows that offer views of a beautiful outdoor world.

Open the mahogany wood door and walk barefoot on the ochre-colored Mayan tiles in the 15 traditionally decorated rooms, enjoy traditional Campeche or international cuisine in the restaurant, organize your business meeting in our events room, or finish your day with a treatment in our spa.

Hacienda Puerta Campeche recreates the belle époque of the Mexican southeast. Its 15 rooms and suites are located in a historic building and all have a view of the beautiful pool built in the oldest part of the building. The furnishings are made by artisans from the Mundo Maya Haciendas Foundation.

Hacienda Puerta Campeche continuously works to improve its sustainability. Our main actions are:

  • Measurement and minimization of energy consumption.
  • Measurement and minimization of drinking water consumption.
  • Measurement and proper management of wastewater.
  • Measurement and minimization of solid waste (inorganic and organic).
  • Appropriate management of hazardous substances and wastes.

We help community groups create micro-enterprises formed through sustainable cooperatives. We support the financing process and help with training, tools, equipment, and help them find a fair price for their work. The Foundation has World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) certification. Our goals are:

  • Profitability of the cooperatives.
  • Social and economic improvement for cooperative members.
  • Improved business management of the cooperatives.

Across from Hacienda Puerta Campeche, a Mayan boutique has been created that offers products made by Mayan artisans and renowned designers.  Thanks to the purchase of these pieces, artisans have income to support their families and they have a space where guests and travelers can learn more about the project.

Our Spa therapists training project provides new opportunities for local women. Our therapists have inherited ancestral Mayan knowledge known as “sobada” and they have the ability to heal with their hands. These women pass on their knowledge to the younger women in their communities, which also gives guests the chance to have a magical and unique experience.
