Located in La Hispaniola Island, Province of La Altagracia, Punta Cana is one of the main tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic & the Caribbean. It encompasses a tourist corridor of more than 70km including the beaches of Juanillo, Cap Cana, Punta Cana, Cabeza de Toro, Cabo Engaño, Bávaro, El Cortecito, Arena Gorda and Uvero Alto.
Away from the noises of the city, the natural paradise of Uvero Alto attracts tourists with its untouched, palm tree studded beaches. Development began in the area in 1980, and it now offers a great variety of excursions to the jungle, scuba diving in neighboring islands and coral reefs, golf courses, nightclubs, restaurants, and beautiful beaches.
The closest city to Uvero Alto is Higuey, which is one hour away from the resort. An international airport and a highway strategically connect Uvero Alto to the main tourist destinations on the island including La Romana, Santo Domingo, and the Dominican Republic capital, which is located two hours further to the west and is the first city of the new world.
