In the buffer zone of the Megantoni National Sanctuary in the Peruvian Amazon, the Rainforest Alliance worked with farmers, local governments, and businesses to develop a new means of coffee and cocoa production that conserves forests, builds climate resilience, and strengthens the role of female farmers.
This work was part of the Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA), a long-term regional program created by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) that brings together more than 30 local and international partner organizations to conserve the Amazon biome in Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru.
