A Cocoa Farmer’s Story

Climate change is one of the many challenges Adrien Koffi Kouadio faces as a cocoa farmer in the village of Paul Kru, Côte d'Ivoire—a country that produces more than 30 percent of the world's cocoa. Like his father before him and many of his fellow villagers, he cultivates cocoa on his small Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM farm using methods that nourish the soil, protect rivers and streams, and increase resilience to drought.
