Impacts of the Rainforest Alliance’s Work in the Maya Biosphere Reserve

On Wednesday, November 9th at 2:00 PM EDT (1:00 PM CST), Rainforest Alliance Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development for Latin America, José Román Carrera, presented on the social, economic, and environmental impacts emblematic of the model that the Rainforest Alliance has implemented in the Maya Biosphere Reserve.

For 23 years, José Román Carrera has met forceful and life-threatening opposition for his work protecting the Maya Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala. As Director of Partnership and Development in Latin America, Carrera has been integral in developing community forestry strategy in the region as well as setting the standard for programs around the world.
