In 2026, Nespresso will introduce the world’s first Rainforest Alliance Certified regenerative coffees—sourced from pioneering farmers in Mexico, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica carrying the new Rainforest Alliance regenerative seal.

This isn’t just a new product. It’s a step toward a more resilient, equitable, and regenerative future.

Nespresso Announces First Coffee Certified Regenerative by the Rainforest Alliance

Nespresso and the Rainforest Alliance: 20+ years of partnership

The Rainforest Alliance and Nespresso both believe that flavor isn’t the only measure of high-quality coffee—it’s also about the positive impact it has on people and nature.

This shared belief brought us together more than two decades ago. In 2003, Nespresso and the Rainforest Alliance co-developed the AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program to help coffee farmers grow exceptional beans while adopting sustainable practices that protect nature and improve livelihoods.

Then, in 2022, Nespresso supported the development of the Rainforest Alliance’s Regenerative Coffee Scorecard, which provided a framework for smallholder coffee farms to transition to regenerative farming practices. This laid the foundation for the new regenerative standard.
