The Rainforest Alliance will be participating in Climate Week NYC, hosted this year from September 22–29, 2024. With over 600 events and activities citywide aimed at raising awareness about climate issues and fostering collaboration, Climate Week NYC presents a unique opportunity for the Rainforest Alliance to showcase our climate strategy. We aim to engage with partners and diverse stakeholders who share our commitment to climate action. We firmly believe that by working together, we can amplify our impact and drive meaningful change.
Brewing Solutions: Coffee and Climate Resilience
Climate change is threatening coffee production worldwide, from Kenya to Vietnam, by reducing coffee yields and eroding the means by which smallholder farmers make a living. The Rainforest Alliance is bringing together key alliance members to discuss not only how climate change disrupts coffee production but also how sustainable and regenerative practices can build resilience in our coffee supply chain. Learn how they help coffee farmers prepare for and mitigate the impacts of climate change while also implementing practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Greenwashing Explained: Promoting Transparency in Sustainability
Certification standards like the Rainforest Alliance’s are crucial tools in addressing the climate crisis and preventing companies from making superficial or misleading environmental claims—also known as “greenwashing.” The Rainforest Alliance and O’Melveny & Myers LLP are hosting an event for Climate Week NYC as they delve into the steps taken by companies to avoid greenwashing accusations and combat greenwashing across supply chains. This discussion promises to be insightful and instrumental in understanding how rigorous certification and standards can drive genuine environmental compliance and accountability.
