Education Intern
The Rainforest Alliance is a nonprofit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. The goal of the Education Program is to catalyze today’s generation of students to be socially responsible, globally aware and actively engaged in positive actions for a more prosperous planet. The Education staff oversees the development and delivery of educational content and professional development services to advance local-to-global learning, sustainable practices and civic engagement.
The intern will contribute to research that will aid the development of our professional development services, online content and grant proposals. Projects may include researching the latest findings related to best practices, specific content areas and/or identification of up-and-coming thought leaders; assisting with the development of teaching tools such as curriculum planning and assessment instruments; involvement in the design and/or delivery of web-based learning opportunities (i.e. webinars, new content, online tools); and assisting in the maintenance of outreach via database management, listserv postings and social media. Qualified and motivated candidates will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, research and writing to advance the goals of the Education Program.
The internship is unpaid, however the intern may be eligible to earn academic credit for his or her work with the Rainforest Alliance.
Ideal for undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing. Self-starter, resourceful and detail-oriented individual with great communications skills needed. Sound research skills, adeptness with the Internet and Microsoft office, and ability to interact professionally with potential partners via the phone and email required. Two-three day commitment per week preferred.
