Marketing Intern
The Rainforest Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior.
The Rainforest Alliance Marketing staff works to promote the message of the Rainforest Alliance to consumers, companies, media, producers and a variety of other stakeholders in the national and international community. We create new and exciting marketing opportunities to promote the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal, the Rainforest Alliance Verified mark and the Rainforest Alliance logo. Raising Awareness among consumers, employees, the media, and our online community is central to our work.
The intern will help support the planning and implementation of the Follow the Frog campaign being held in September 2013. Follow the Frog is our biggest international consumer awareness-raising campaign where we engage companies all over the world to promote the Rainforest Alliance and their products which carry the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal. This is an excellent opportunity for an intern to learn how a non-profit prepares and launches an international marketing campaign. Tasks will include participating in phone meetings with partner companies, taking notes and preparing minutes, logging company enrollments, communicating campaign updates to our International team and updating our company contact information in our Sales-force database system. The intern will also help with outreach and organization related to our Follow the Frog 2013 Media and Consumer Event in New York City.
The internship is unpaid, however the intern may be eligible to earn academic credit for his or her work with the Rainforest Alliance.
Ideal for undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing. Self-starter, resourceful and detail-oriented individual with great communications skills needed. Sound research skills, adeptness with the Internet and Microsoft office, and ability to interact professionally with marketing and branding staff at various companies via the phone and e-mail required. Minimum commitment of 15-20 hours a week required.
