The Rainforest Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior.

The Rainforest Alliance Development staff raises funds from private foundations, corporations, government agencies, individuals, and its members to support the conservation programs of the organization.  


10-15 hours per week

Internship Period: 

September, 2014 - December, 2014


The internship will focus on a project to update Rainforest Alliance’s existing peer-to-peer fundraising tool. Deliverables will include recommending updates to the site’s features and navigation, drafting new copy for the tool’s automated email messages, and developing an outreach strategy to attract new users. The intern will also participate in administrative tasks, including data entry and donor follow up. Qualified and motivated candidates will have the opportunity to learn about fundraising and marketing strategies.


Ideal for undergraduate or graduate students in good academic standing. Self-starter, resourceful and detail-oriented individual with great writing communications skills needed. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate creativity in prior experiences.

Time Commit and Other Requirements: 

Minimum commitment of 10-15 hours a week required.


The internship is unpaid, however the intern may be eligible to earn academic credit for his or her work with the Rainforest Alliance.
