Lawrence (Larry) Lunt is a private investor from Belgium who manages Armonia, his family business in Greenwich, Connecticut. Armonia focuses on triple bottom line investments with a balanced emphasis on people, planet and profit. Armonia has supported many innovators in the field such as Root Capital, RSF Social Finance, TBL Capitaland the GIIN. Today, a key focus is on leveraging business to mimic nature on the world’s grasslands through a partnership with the Savory Institute.
Mr. Lunt is a Director of his family’s private equity group, Artal, which invests through its advisor, the Invus Group, with Weight Watchers as a major asset.
Mr. Lunt’s major focus overall is the regeneration of the environment for the benefit of humanity. He has participated in several Arctic and Antarctic expeditions and has board-level involvement with other major environmental groups such as the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) and the International Polar Foundation in Brussels. He is also involved with Ashoka, a program that promotes the world’s leading social entrepreneurs, which he helped launch in Belgium.
He has been actively engaged in various education projects both internationally -- Up With People, World Campus International Japan, and the Cirenas environmental school in Costa Rica -- and locally, with the Montessori School and the Convent of Sacred Heart, where he founded the Barat Foundation which aims to educate students in philanthropy.
Mr. Lunt holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Louvain in Belgium and an MBA from Sophia University in Japan.
