Berry Marttin is former member of Rabobank Executive Board. Over the course of his career at Rabobank, he gained extensive experience as an international banker working in various senior executive positions in Australia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Curacao and Brazil. Mr Marttin moved to the Netherlands in 2004 to become Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rabobank Amsterdam. From 2009 to 2023 he served the Managing Board with special focus on Rabobank’s Wholesale and Rural banking activities. Further responsibilities included Global Food and Agri, Leasing, Sustainability, Rabo Carbon Bank, Rabo Foundation and Rabo Research.
Born and raised in Brazil, but also carrying Dutch nationality, Mr. Marttin studied Business Administration at Fundação Getulio Vargas. In 2001 he concluded his MBA at University of Western Ontario.
His other former activities include serving as President of the EACB (European Association of Co-operative Banks); Supervisory Board Member of Wageningen University and Research and IDH. In 2021, he was invited to join the UN Food Systems Summit Champions network.
Mr. Marttin currently resides in Portugal, but still owns a farm in Brazil. He also serves on the Board of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), on the Supervisory Board of Koppert BV, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hans R. Neumann Foundation and is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Sustainable Nutrition Initiative at Riddet Institute in New Zealand.
