This lesson plan takes students through key milestones in the history of farming—from traditional Indigenous practices and modern industrial agriculture to recent efforts to promote regenerative growing practices. Students will compare the impacts these different approaches have on people and the environment.

Through cross-curricular exercises, students will reflect on how agriculture shapes our world—and how, collectively, we can move toward a more sustainable future.
