Nicolas Mounard leads the Rainforest Alliance’s commercial work, overseeing efforts to deepen company partnerships, develop new market opportunities, and connect farmers and forest communities to the companies and markets that can drive change at scale.
Mounard has more than two decades of experience leading large-scale sustainability initiatives across cocoa, coffee, and tea. Before joining the Rainforest Alliance, Mounard served as vice president of ESG, Sustainability, and Traceability at Barry Callebaut, where he led the company’s global sustainability agenda, including its Forever Chocolate program and its work on sustainability regulations and supply-chain traceability. He also served as Barry Callebaut’s global director of Farmer Services and vice president of Sustainability and Farming.
Mounard has previously served as chief executive officer of Farm Africa, managing director of Twin and Twin Trading, and chief executive officer of Alter Eco. He resides in Paris, France.
