How Business Can Tackle Deforestation: Beyond COP21

On April 6-7th, 2016, Rainforest Alliance representatives will attend the event “How business can tackle deforestation: Beyond COP21” organized by the Innovation Forum in Washington, DC. The event will feature leading experts from companies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to discuss deforestation commitments and implementation, to determine progress made in tackling deforestation risk, implementing policies and collaborating effectively. Senior representatives of the Rainforest Alliance will appear on several of the panel discussions, including:

“Restoring forests and landscapes. PR pipedream or realistic solution to deforestation?”a plenary session panel discussion featuring Richard Donovan, senior vice-president and vice-president of forestry at Rainforest Alliance as well as other company and NGO representatives.

“Smallholder farmer engagement. What’s been learned on the ground that’s transferable and scalable?” a plenary session panel discussion featuring representatives of Cargill, P&G, IPOP, and moderated by Richard Donovan of Rainforest Alliance.

“Certification and beyond” the conference closing plenary session discussion featuring comments by Nigel Sizer, president of Rainforest Alliance and moderated by Tobias Webb of Innovation Forum.
