Our Origin Issue Assessment of Ethiopian coffee for JDE >
As part of the JDE Common Grounds program, the Rainforest Alliance investigated the key risks present in the Ethiopian coffee sector through an Origin Issue Assessment (OIA). Our OIA is an ‘early warning system’ to identify potential issues related to coffee production in a country for each of JDE’s responsible sourcing principles. Our research was based on three different data sources: (i) country-specific law and legislation; (ii) recent evidence (media, reports, papers, certification audit results); and (iii) an expert opinions survey.
