We are excited to announce that we will present our newly designed Rainforest Alliance certification seal to partner companies by May. The new seal is part of our new brand identity, following the merger between the Rainforest Alliance and UTZ in 2018. It represents a sustainability journey of continuous improvement to reach our mission; creating a better future for people and nature by making responsible business the new normal.
Our alliance is all about changing the way the world produces, sources and consumes agricultural and forestry products. Together with farmers, companies and consumers we can create the positive change we all want to see. Our new 2020 Certification Program is a step forward on that journey. A fresh, modernized seal with a sleeker, more dynamic frog on product packaging will show consumers what we stand for and that they can be part of our alliance by making better choices more easily.
Seal use from September 1
We will provide companies with the guidance and support documents on how to use the new seal in May. Product packaging with the new seal can be sold from September 1, 2020. In the run-up to September 1, we will provide companies with marketing support, such as messaging templates to use in your consumer and stakeholder communications, both on and off-pack.
What it means for your product
The new seal will replace the current Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal and the UTZ label, but it is foreseen that there will be a period that all three seals will be visible in the market. We encourage you to transition to the new Rainforest Alliance seal at your earliest convenience.

For more information about the transition, please reach out to your Rainforest Alliance contact or email customersuccess@ra.org.
Follow the Frog 2020
During our annual Follow the Frog campaign from September 21-27, we will present the new seal to the world and build upon the meaning of our frog. We will help consumers to familiarize themselves with it and to recognize our old Rainforest Alliance Certified seal and UTZ label as part of the same family. Together with many of our partner companies, we will also encourage consumers to take action, for example (but not exclusively) by choosing certified products: a choice that is better for people and nature – a great, simple, first step to join our alliance.
