Ages 11-14, Lesson 1: Endangered Rainforest Animals

In this lesson, students will meet some of the rainforest’s most endangered animals—and will explore the human activities and environmental changes that are driving global biodiversity loss.
Students will practice critical thinking by researching an endangered animal of their choice and creating a detailed species profile that documents its conservation status, the threats it faces, and strategies to protect it.

- Worksheet: Species profiles (research and document status, threats, and conservation actions for one rainforest animal)
- Quiz: Endangered species (endangered, extinct, habitat loss, etc.)
