Rainforest Alliance 2010 Cupping
Since 2003, the Rainforest Alliance has conducted an annual coffee cupping modeled after similar cupping events in the specialty coffee industry. The Rainforest Alliance cupping event is an opportunity for Rainforest Alliance Certified™ coffees to undergo systematic evaluation by a group of experts, to recognize exceptional coffees carrying the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal and to highlight the linkage between sustainable farm management practices and cup quality. The evaluation also helps producers of Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee by giving them valuable feedback on the ways to continually improve their cup quality.
The results of the cupping are publicized in key trade publications and in media outlets around the world and shared with buyers of Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee.
