Selva Negra Ecolodge lies on a large coffee plantation in northern Nicaragua, at Kilometer 140 on the Matagalpa-Jinotega highway. One third of the farm is protected as a wildlife reserve and we are part of the Cerro Arenal Nature Reserve where you can see monkeys, toucans, butterflies, orchids, and more. This Reserve has great biological richness including plants and animals of the tropical cloud forest and valuable natural resources like fresh water.
Selva Negra has developed innovative ways of growing coffee, vegetables, livestock, flowers, and ferns. We produce gourmet coffee under strict international standards for the protection of the environment, wildlife, workers, and the community. We care for our planet by growing and raising organic vegetables and beef, we make our own organic fertilizers and produce much of our own energy using hydraulic methods and solar panels.
We offer accommodation in cabins and rooms (double or family). We have a restaurant with organic meals, and for those who enjoy nature, we have coffee, farm, nature, and night tours.
