The construction and operation of the resort is in accord with the highest ecological standards, providing a level of supreme luxury combined with environmental awareness that is recognized by Rainforest Alliance certification.

We support our neighboring communities by buying foods, clothing, bags, decorations and crafts from local producers and artisans; we also ensure that all of our suppliers are socially and environmentally responsible. And we also sponsor a local school that is only 12 miles from the hotel.

The hotel has a solid waste management program where we recycle plastic, cardboard, paper, aluminum, scrap metal and paraffin and we dispose of wastes in the municipality of Solidaridad. We donate organic waste to a pig farm in the community of Vida y Esperanza and our used vegetable oil is sold to produce biodiesel.

Our water comes from authorized wells and is treated by reverse osmosis. We use biodegradable laundry products and plant native plants in our garden to provide habitat for local plant and animal species. We participate in cleanups (with no chemicals) in Mayakoba’s canals and lakes.
