Sustainable Agriculture Standard
Our new Sustainable Agriculture Standard will be designed to maximize positive social, environmental, and economic impact, offering farms an enhanced framework to improve their livelihoods while protecting the landscapes where they live and work.
Chain of Custody Standard
Our new Chain of Custody Standard contributes to more sustainable supply chains, including socially and environmentally responsible processing. A tailored risk-based approach will make the certification process more efficient for supply chain actors.
From July 1st, 2019, we will offer further mutual recognition options for our cocoa, tea and hazelnut programs.
Herbs, spices and infusions
The Rainforest Alliance and the Union for Ethical Biotrade intend to extend their collaboration and publish a new program focused on ingredients used in herbal and fruit infusions as well as table herbs, spices and seasonings.
UTZ Label and Rainforest Alliance Seal
We are working to refresh and modernize the Rainforest Alliance Seal while making the most of existing strong consumer recognition and brand value. More information will be shared in the coming months about when the new seal will be available for use on pack.
The UTZ label will be gradually phased out. Meanwhile, companies can continue to submit UTZ labeling approval requests at least until the end of 2022. We will also continue to offer support for UTZ certified brands and products, from sourcing through marketing.
